EV & FAME- II TESTING - To Support the E-mobility mission of Govt. of India, ICAT has prioritized EV and FAME-II Testing
ICAT’s Tyre Test Lab (TTL) is NABL (ISO 17025) accredited and approved by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), which is providing services related to Type Approval & Conformity of Production of Tyres as per AIS:037 (CMVR). ICAT has transformed this lab into Centre of Excellence (CoE) by developing new capabilities including the installation of Dual Station Endurance Test Rig and Tyre Rolling Resistance Test Rig as per ECE R117 & AIS:142.
ICAT’s Passive Safety Lab (PSL), NABL (ISO 17025) accredited, is capable of performing Crash Tests, Pedestrian Protection Tests & Sled Tests as per various Indian, International and NCAP regulations (including Bharat NCAP). This lab is equipped with world class test facilities which include full fledged crash test facilities to conduct Full Frontal, Frontal OBD, Side Impact, Rear Impact etc crash tests as per Indian and International regulations
The EMC lab is NABL (ISO 17025) accredited. It has a Vehicle Semi - Anechoic Chamber (VSAC) for accommodating all types of vehicles ranging from two - wheelers to heavy commercial vehicles for electromagnetic emissions and immunity . It also has a Component Semi - Anechoic Chamber (CSAC) for testing of electromagnetic emissions and immunity for electrical/ electronic components of a vehicle.
The NVH lab is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as Semi Anechoic Rooms with dynamometer capabilities for Passenger Cars and Heavy Commercial Vehicles, modal analysis room, coupled acoustic rooms & listening room. The Passenger Car Semi Anechoic Chamber has capability to simulate external Pass By Noise test for development of vehicles to meet present and future regulatory requirements.
ICAT has recently completed the first BS-VI certification for a heavy duty engine model for M/s Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicle Limited. Having successfully completed the compliance test of a product much ahead of the implementation date of 1 April, 2020, the activity has given both ICAT and VECV much exposure on certain key areas to be kept in view while undertaking the BS-VI development and certification testing
International Centre for Automotive Technology appoints Saurabh Dalela as its new director.
The International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) located in Manesar, Haryana has appointed its new director. The nodal testing body, which falls under the aegis of Ministry of Heavy Industries, saw its senior-most post lying vacant for a few months since the retirement of erstwhile director Dinesh Tyagi earlier this year
ICAT has announced that it has appointed automotive industry veteran Saurabh Dalela as its new director. Dalela took charge as the new ICAT director last month on November 21. He has previously held the same position from 2007 to 2009.
