RAPID PROTOTYPING has become a game-changing innovation for deginers, engineer and manufactures since it was introduced two decades ago. Previously, prototypes would be constructed from wood or metal in woodwork or machine shops. The process took weeks or months and the cost was often so prohibitive that designers skipped prototypes entirely and went directly from CAD to tooling.

So after considering this major concern regarding products we have introduced in 2011 the SELECTIVE LSAER SINTERING and SELECTIVE LASER MELTNG at our site for prototype development. As prototype is the first object in order to convert a concept into reality. We are here to make prototypes in plastics as well as in Metal through additive manufacturing technology. The following are the details of facilities available at ICAT:--

2. SELECTIVE LASER MELTING (SLM) For Metal Parts, Aluminium and Stell

Make & Model : SLM Solutions - SLM250HL

Process: Metal Laser Sintering

Build Volume: 250* 250* 250 mm3

Accuracy of Laser: ± 0.005 mm

Materials : ALSil2 & SS316 L

Building Speed: 20 mm/hr

Surface Roughness: 14~40µm
