On 23rd February 2016,  Shri. ANANT G. GEETE (Hon'ble Minister, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Govt. of India) inaugurated various Test Facilities of ICAT, Manesar (Site - I) in the august presence of Sh. R.K. Singh (Jt. Secy), DHI & Sh. Sanjay Bandopadhayay, CEO & PD NATRiP.

An MOU signed on 4th March, 2016 between NATIS(ICAT) and SGS for setting up of Inspection and Certification (I&C) centres on Build, Own, Operate(BOO)/ Private Public Partnership(PPP) basis in India.”

Installed Fire Resistance Test Facility for Plastic Fuel Tanks as per IS:15547 & ECE R34. The Customers will get the complete Certification & Homologation services of plastic fuel tanks including fire resistance testing. This test facility is capable to undertake development as well as certification tests of plastic fuel tanks intended for Passenger Cars & HCVs.

With the development of CRS Manikin/Fixture as per Annexure 23 of AIS:72, ICAT has started testing of CRS (installation of Universal Category). The OEMs are using this new test facility for obtaining compliance to AIS:072 which would be mandatory from 1st Apr-2015
